These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sparehawk website and search service (the "Service"), operated by [COMPANY] ("Sparehawk", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. What Sparehawk is
Sparehawk is an industrial-parts search and sourcing intermediary. We help buyers identify a part by manufacturer part number (MPN), find verified replacements and alternatives, and connect with third-party suppliers who may be able to quote that part.
Sparehawk does not sell parts. We are not a party to any sale, and we do not hold, ship, or take title to inventory. Every transaction — pricing, availability, condition, delivery, and payment — is agreed directly between you and the supplier you choose to work with.
2. Requesting quotes ("RFQs")
When you submit a request for quote through the Service, we forward the relevant part and contact details you provide to one or more suppliers who indicate they may be able to fulfil it. Submitting an RFQ does not create a contract with Sparehawk, and does not guarantee that any supplier will respond, has stock, or can meet your requirements.
3. No warranty on supplier information or quotes
Part data, lifecycle status, supplier counts, lead times, and replacement/cross-reference suggestions shown on the Service are aggregated from manufacturer publications, supplier-submitted inventory, and, where marked as such, automated matching. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of this information. Cross-references and successor suggestions marked "community" or "AI candidate" are unverified and must be confirmed with the manufacturer or supplier before you rely on them, including before placing an order.
Any quote, price, delivery date, or product representation made by a supplier is made solely by that supplier. Sparehawk gives no warranty, express or implied, as to the quality, fitness for purpose, genuineness, or legality of any part offered by a supplier, and is not liable for any loss arising from a transaction you enter into with a supplier.
4. Fees and supplier subscriptions
Using the Service as a buyer is free. Suppliers pay a monthly subscription that depends on the number of active listings they keep on the Service; the plans, prices and trial are set out on the pricing page and in the Supplier Terms. Sparehawk takes no commission on any transaction between a buyer and a supplier and does not handle payment for parts.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) scrape or bulk-extract data from the Service outside of the published sitemap/API; (b) submit RFQs in bad faith or with false contact details; (c) use the Service to source parts for an unlawful purpose, including circumventing export controls or sanctions.
6. Intellectual property
The Service's software, design, and Sparehawk-authored content are owned by [COMPANY]. Manufacturer names, part numbers, and trademarks referenced on the Service belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify parts, not to imply endorsement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [COMPANY] is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or from any transaction with a supplier introduced through the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
